Informed Consent:
Patients have a right to privacy that must not be violated without their informed consent. Identifying information, such as names, initials, or hospital numbers, should not be included in descriptions, photographs, or pedigrees unless essential for scientific purposes. Authors must obtain written informed consent from patients (or their guardians) for publication and should inform them that identifiable information may be available both online and in print after publication. Authors are responsible for archiving the consent forms and including a statement in the manuscript confirming that consent has been obtained. When obtained, this should also be indicated in the published article.
